Romantic Gestures

Consortium Aurora Borealis is thrilled to open its 44th season with “Romantic Gestures”, an in-person concert celebrating Scandinavia. Violinist Jeremy Bell returns, joined by pianist Shoshana Telner, to perform Violin Sonata No. 2 in G major, Op. 13 by the Norwegian composer Grieg, as well as a sonata movement by Swedish composer Stenhammar.

As a nod to Thunder Bay’s Finnish population, a suite for piano, Op. 75 “The Trees” by Sibelius is included, expressing his love for nature. The concert switches gears to conclude with an exquisite Italian Romantic violin sonata by Respighi. Catch the excitement as our distinguished guest artists wow you with their virtuosic performance.
