Join us in celebrating the flute! At the heart of this concert are Haydn’s spirited “London Trios”, a set of divertimento-type short works written during the composer’s second trip to England and gifted to a baron. We showcase works by the composer Kuhlau, known as “the Beethoven of the flute”, with a Duo Brillante or two, and from the Baroque, music by the prolific Telemann. On the lighter side, we throw in some charming French dances. Penelope Clarke and Doris Dungan, who for over four decades had jointly made up the flute section of the TBSO, now reunite to perform an endearing programme of solos, duos, and trios with cellist Peter Cosbey.
Admission: $25 Adults / $15 Students / 11 and under free. Tickets available closer to the concert date.
